Russia-Ukraine Invite + Updates
Catching up with your friendly neighborhood geopolitical analyst.
Hi all,
I hope you are doing well. The last two months have been crazy — who are we kidding, the last two years! — but from a geopolitical perspective, the last two months have been particularly nuts. The only time I can compare it to is when the Arab Spring, the Libya Intervention, and the Fukushima meltdown all happened within a span of a few months at the beginning of 2011 — and the disruption we are seeing has already far surpassed that.
I’m dropping a quick note to let you know about a few things. First of all, I’ll be presenting at another Cognitive Investments webinar tomorrow (Friday April 8th) at 12:00 pm central time, this time on long-term consequences of the Russia-Ukraine war. The link to sign-up (click here!) is free, and there’s no fee or anything, just put in your email and you’re good to go. If you can’t make it and want to see the replay, just let me know and I’ll hook you up. I’ll have some more exciting news to share about my work with CI in the next few weeks, so stay tuned for that as well.
In addition, if you are craving a little more geopolitics in your life, I’ve been producing a lot of content over the last 6 weeks.
My most recent podcast with Neil Townsend is excellent, and you can listen by clicking here. (We’re going to be expanding the podcast significantly in the coming weeks as well, but more on that later!)
I continue to write a monthly column at Lykeion, and my most recent essay on the geopolitics of food is one of the best articles I think I’ve ever written — you can find it by clicking here.
I’ve been appearing in a lot of media and podcasts over the past few weeks, but I think my favorite appearance has been a recent podcast with Razib Khan. You can find that by clicking here.
I hope to send out little updates like this once every month or two going forward. The last thing I want to do is overwhelm your inbox with more letters — trust me, I understand the struggle! — so if you don’t want to receive these updates, please do feel free to unsubscribe, you won’t hurt my feelings. In the meantime, though, stay healthy and happy! I got a chance to speak a Tissue conference (yep!) a few weeks ago in Miami, and the world felt almost normal. I hope there’s more of that in store for all of us in the months to come.
Cheers,
jacob
Thanks for the update! Your content is fantastic, and has really helped me navigate the past few months.
